You might become a pillar of salt if you do this…⁣

We all know the story of Lots wife who a lot of historians and biblical scholars call EDITH (not Tony Starks EDITH please).⁣

The story goes like this…⁣

God instructed her and her family not to “look back” as they departed sodom and Gomorrah while he destroyed it but…⁣

Lot wanted to see what God was doing. Probably she did that out of curiosity or she wanted to gossip about it with her husband. I don’t know but I know if she was alive in times like these she’d probably be a columnist on instablog.⁣

⁣⁣I digress…⁣

⁣Why exactly did she turn to a pillar of salt?⁣

Judaism said it’s a punishment for disobeying the angels warning and the Bible said something similar.⁣

She was also referenced in Luke 17:32 when Jesus said…⁣

“When the Day arrives and you’re out working in the yard, don’t run into the house to get anything. And if you’re out in the field, don’t go back and get your coat. Remember what happened to Lot’s wife!

You might become a pillar of salt if you do this!⁣

Most times when we are on a quest for a better life we fail to realize that having a vision or being skilled is just 1/10 of the plan. The most important factor to the actualization of our success is our ability to be disciplined enough to NEVER LOOK BACK to the things that kept us in a pit.⁣

Those lifestyles, habits, friends, environment, or relationship that was our stronghold and pillar when we were “in the world”.

Sometimes the problem is you are not matured enough TO MOVE ON! You still cling on things, pillars, experiences, relationships that kept you and are still keeping you in the pit.⁣

“Oh I am depressed, probably if I call my ex that abused me he will be able to get me out of depression”⁣

You might become a pillar of salt if you do this!⁣

Someone that never shows any attempt to make any progress in life. Someone that at any given attempt will love to go back to their vomit because that is what they are used to.⁣

What you are used to will not take you to where you are supposed to be. You need to shed your old skin, put on a new cloth, and RESIST THE URGE TO LOOK BACK.⁣

Today you decide to SHOW UP AND RISE UP to your calling but tomorrow you are back to that habit of procrastination and mediocrity.⁣

Today you decide to be committed in your relationships and tomorrow you are calling “My father’s brother” or “My mother’s nephew”⁣

The person who is under that table will understand perfectly well what I am talking about and catch his/her sub.⁣

And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles, and both are preserved. No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better. — Mark 2:22.⁣

Which do you prefer?⁣

The life you desire or the pit you are comfortable with?⁣

⁣Let your actions, behaviors, and decisions answer this question correctly.⁣

DO NOT LOOK BACK OR ELSE YOU MIGHT TURN TO SALT.⁣
